Baton Rouge Man Surrenders For Former Lover's Killing

A Baton Rouge man wanted for the deadly shooting of his ex-girlfriend is arrested after surrendering to police.

Police said 52-year-old Robert Antoine turned himself in Tuesday with an attorney.  He's accused of shooting 41-year-old Monique Maxie several times early Saturday morning at the 1900 block of Blount Road as she returned home from a party.

Maxie died Sunday at a hospital.

Antoine was booked in the parish prison on charges that include second-degree murder.
