Baton Rouge Police Chief Pushes Back On Firing Request

Protests Continue In Baton Rouge After Police Shooting Death Of Alton Sterling

Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie is pushing back a request by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome to fire an officer involved in the deadly shooting of Alton Sterling.

Dabadie responded in a letter to the mayor, saying it'd be improper and premature to do so while the criminal investigation is ongoing.

Broome had written a letter to Dabadie, asking him to fire Officer Blane Salamoni. Sterling was shot several times at close range while held down on the ground back in July of last year.
