PORT ALLEN - Sheriff's deputies said they arrested four people who broke into a Port Allen home Thursday morning, including one who fled and tried to blend into the crowd at a funeral.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Dymarco Hills, 23-year-old Quindell Webb, 31-year-old Curtis Fisher, and 25-year-old Darius Barnes on suspicion of breaking into a home on Colonial Drive.

West Baton Rouge Sheriff Mike Cazes said a neighbor called in the break-in after seeing two suspicious vehicles outside the home. Cazes said sheriff's deputies were at a training event at Port Allen High School and quickly responded to the scene, surprising the four while they were still at the home.

The sheriff said the four burglars scattered after deputies arrived. He said Barnes was caught hiding in a closet at the home, Fisher was apprehended by a K9 a short time later, Webb was caught after a wreck near the US 190 bridge, and Hills was caught trying to attend at funeral at a nearby church.

Authorities locked down the Port Allen High School during the search as a precaution.

Deputies said all four suspects are from Baton Rouge, and were charged with simple burglary and resisting arrest.
