BATON ROUGE (WBRZ) - Mayor-President Kip Holden today said he expects to decide who will lead the Baton Rouge Police Department by this time next week.

Holden confirmed today that the three finalists for the position were interim chief Carl Dabadie, Capt. Noel Salamoni, and Capt. Carl Dunn, all currently working for the BRPD.

Holden picked Dabadie as interim chief after firing Dewayne White. Before that Dabadie served as White's chief of staff.

Salamoni currently commands the Special Operations Division and has served on the force for 31 years. Dunn is currently a district commander and has been with BRPD for 29 years.

Only 11 out of the 18 applicants for the position passed the chief's exam with a 75 or higher. Of those, four scored equal to or higher than the three finalists Holden listed
