BATON ROUGE (WBRZ) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner said Monday pilot John Fowler died from "blunt force, thermal, and inhalational injuries."

Dr. William "Beau" Clark classified Fowler's cause of death as an accident.

Fowler was killed when his plane fell from the sky and crashed into a house Friday afternoon and exploded after reporting mechanical problems. No one on the ground was injured or killed.

Fowler was described as a professional pilot and the "nicest person" by friends and colleagues.

Federal investigators are responsible for piecing together what happened.
