BATON ROUGE  (WBRZ) - LSU announced today that Chevron will give the university $2.7 million for renovations and upgrades to their Engineering and Science schools.

An LSU spokesperson said $2 million will go toward the Patrick F. Taylor Hall renovation and expansion for the College of Engineering, while 700,000 will go to the College of Science.

The engineering school money will create a student academic support center, as well as a new rock and fluids lab for the Department of Petroleum Engineering.

The gifts are part of a state-led $100 million public-private partnership to renovate and expand LSU's engineering facilities.
