BATON ROUGE- Friday, the North Boulevard overpass near downtown was renamed to honor an eleven year old who died this year after battling cancer.
Before he died, Trevor Sims wanted to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge. He did it by appearing on WBRZ News 2 and encouraging people to give. There was an outpouring of donations, made to honor Trevor.
City leaders were in attendance at the event and called Trevor an inspiration.
"Trevor always wanted to touch others lives to help people," Trevor's mom, Allison, said.
She said the bridge memorial is special.
"Hopefully he'll be able to make an impact on generations to come."
