BATON ROUGE (WBRZ) - Analysts said the Baton Rouge area economy is seeing record growth. The Baton Rouge Area Chamber called together their members Thursday discussing economic data for the capital area.
"Got a great outlook for 2014," said Adam Knapps, BRAC president. "Nearly every sector is seeing expansion."
Of the nine-parish region, Ascension has seen the most job growth potential.
"We've got billions worth of construction projects along the river," Knapps said. "That translates into a lot of skilled positions being open."
Available land is now being sought in Ascension to help accommodate the growing needs.
"One of the by-products of our success is a lot of the good sites in the industrial corridor have been consumed," said Michael Eades, CEO of the Ascension Economic Development Corp.
But there are some areas for overall improvement. A survey of business leaders found that workforce issues, transportation and traffic problems are main concerns.
