CONVENT - Medical examiners finished Talajia Dorsey's preliminary autopsy results Thursday and could not find a cause of death.
Sheriff Willy Martin told WBRZ News 2, the results were inconclusive because the 12-year-old's body was left in the elements for six days. She was found near a cane field along Hwy. 3127 Sunday after being reported missing on July 1st.
Authorities are planning more tests in hopes to find an exact cause of death. Those results are expected to be in by sometime next week, Martin said.
However, Martin did disclose the autopsy showed Talajia was not shot or stabbed to death.
Deputies charged the mother's live in boyfriend, John Celestine, for Talajia's death.
Thursday night, family and friends gathered for a candlelight memorial service for the child.
